How to Remove National Holidays from Google Calendar

Google Calendar is a versatile tool that helps millions of users organize their daily schedules and events. However, it can sometimes be overwhelming to see national holidays listed alongside personal appointments. If you find yourself in a situation where you want to remove these holidays from your Google Calendar, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Step 1: Open Google Calendar

The first step is to access your Google Calendar. You can do this by visiting the Google Calendar website or by opening the Google Calendar app on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: Access Calendar Settings

Once you are in your Google Calendar, click on the gear icon located in the upper-right corner of the screen. This will open a menu with various options. Select “Settings” from the list.

Step 3: Navigate to the “Events” Tab

In the Settings menu, you will see several tabs at the top of the page. Click on the “Events” tab to view the options related to events and holidays.

Step 4: Modify Holiday Settings

Under the “Events” tab, you will find a section called “Holidays.” Here, you can control which holidays are displayed on your calendar. By default, Google Calendar shows holidays for the United States, but you can change this setting to display holidays for another country if needed.

Step 5: Turn Off Holiday Visibility

To remove national holidays from your Google Calendar, simply uncheck the box next to “Show holidays.” This will hide all national holidays from your calendar view.

Step 6: Save Your Changes

After you have unchecked the “Show holidays” box, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. This will apply your changes, and you will no longer see national holidays on your Google Calendar.

Step 7: Customize Your Calendar

If you still want to keep track of certain holidays, you can create custom events for them. Simply click on the “+” button in the upper-right corner of the calendar, select “Event,” and enter the details of the holiday you want to add. This way, you can have a customized calendar that includes only the events that matter to you.

By following these simple steps, you can easily remove national holidays from your Google Calendar and have a more personalized and clutter-free schedule. Happy organizing!
